It would seem that the faire
has been cancelled. Here's a letter from Tim Danielson, the man in charge.
Dear friends, participants and
patrons,
It is with a
heavy heart that I write this letter. During the planning stages for the
2005 WMRF, my wife and I discovered that there was no longer a place for us
within the sponsoring organization, the Ludington Area Jaycees. This was
part of the delay in planning and information for WMRF 2005. Any role I
would have had in WMRF 2006 would have been GREATLY reduced, if I was
even allowed to be more than paying patron. Now due to circumstances
beyond my control, the Ludington Area Jaycees have decided to
"table" the Renaissance Faire "project" for 2006.
While I do not know for sure if this means the end of the Western Michigan
Renaissance Faire, I do know that I will no longer be a part of it. I was
told by the Jaycee board that they will revisit the idea of a
Renaissance faire project for 2007. It is my honest opinion though that my
dream child that many of you and I have put our blood, sweat and tears into, is
dead. I would like to thank the many of you who have helped me since
the beginning of the WMRF. (some even as far back as GV Ren) It has been a
truly enjoyable experience and the faire would not have been possible without
your help. For those of you with web site links, I will continue to leave
the WMRF web site running as long as legally possible. I will however be
removing my contact information. For anyone wishing to stay in contact
with me, please use this e-mail address. I am sure there are friends who I
have missed sending this letter to. I kindly ask that if you know of
someone who does not know, please update them. I wanted to let everyone
know any information that I found out as soon as possible so you could make
arrangements at another event over that weekend. Again, I wish to express
my thanks for the friendships, entertainment and song. It seems like a
fitting song would be "A toast to the Company." I look forward
to seeing you all again "on the circuit" as it were at other events!

We look upon this faire as the Pre-Silverleaf faire! It usually
runs on the first weekend of July, the week before Silverleaf begins! Most of
the vendors are from Silverleaf, and it's often the faire where I see many good
friends for the first time in the season!
